I recently spoke to a single mother who struggles to get her daughter to and from school each day because of her work schedule. She lives too close to school for her daughter to ride the bus, and she worries about her 13-year-old daughter walking by herself such a long way to campus. The family moved to Amarillo from Tennessee about three years ago, and they don't have a close network of friends and family to help them. They are managing for now, but it's a struggle.
